B.I.T.T.I PALLOM (BUCHANAN INSTITUTE TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE )

was founded in 1865 by the CMS missionary Rev.Claudius Buchanan. It is one of the oldest Teacher Training Institute for women in Kerala. In its incipient stage the School imparted vocational training and general education for women.

At present the institute focuses on moulding the women teachers who would be in a position to impart quality education. The institute have well qualified and efficient teaching and non-teaching staff.

Extracurricular activities are also given importance for the holistic development of the students. The School also has a well equipped computer lab and library. Boarding facility is also provided to the students.

Now, forty students are undergoing training in two batches. The co-operation and prayers of all the well-wishers of this institution are requested to full fill the dream of achieving excellence in the field of teacher education for women.

DELED course is conducting in this institute for a period of two years. Selection process from applicants is based on merit. General Education Kerala and SCERT Kerala are providing leadership. Rs. 50 as tuition fee and Rs. 20 as special fee levied from the candidates . Fee waiver for eligible candidates applicable.

The library has over 4500 books. Various types of journals related to the field of education are available in this library. Reference books and encyclopedias are in the collection.
